Gasification Plant
Available Types of Gasifier
Coal Gasifier
Coal gasifiers are used to convert coal into combustible producer gas (syngas) for industrial heating, thermal applications, and power generation. These systems provide an economical alternative to conventional fuels such as furnace oil, LPG, and diesel.
Biomass Gasifier
Biomass gasifiers are used to convert renewable biomass fuel into clean producer gas for industrial heating, power generation, and thermal applications. These systems utilize agricultural waste and biomass residues to produce sustainable and economical energy.
Introduction
Gasification plants are advanced energy systems designed to convert solid fuels into combustible producer gas (syngas) through a controlled thermochemical process. By operating under limited oxygen conditions, these systems transform carbon-based fuels into a clean and efficient gaseous fuel suitable for industrial heating, thermal processing, and power generation.
Gasification plants convert solid fuels such as biomass, agricultural waste, or coal into a clean and combustible gas known as producer gas (syngas). This gas mainly contains carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H₂), and methane (CH₄) and can be used for thermal applications, power generation, or as a substitute for fossil fuels like diesel, LPG, and furnace oil.
Gasification is a thermochemical process carried out in a low-oxygen environment, enabling partial combustion and conversion of solid feedstock into gaseous fuel. Plants can be designed for small captive power units (20 kWe) to large industrial systems (1000+ kWe) depending on energy demand and feedstock availability.

Description
A typical gasification plant consists of fuel feeding systems, a gasifier reactor, gas cooling and cleaning equipment, blowers, control systems, and gas utilization units. The process begins with the controlled feeding of biomass or other carbon-rich fuels into the reactor, where high temperatures and limited oxygen convert the material into producer gas. Advanced filtration and gas cleaning systems remove dust, tar, and other impurities, ensuring a stable and efficient fuel supply for downstream applications. Modern plants are designed for continuous operation, reliable performance, and optimized fuel consumption.
Gasification technology is widely used across industries such as food processing, textile manufacturing, ceramics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and metal processing. The producer gas generated can be utilized in boilers, furnaces, dryers, kilns, and thermic fluid heaters, significantly reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuels. By utilizing locally available biomass and agricultural residues, industries can lower their fuel costs while improving energy security. The technology also provides an effective solution for converting waste materials into valuable energy resources.
